DESCRIPTION The fellow will be exposed to all aspects of breast care, including interpretation of screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and all breast interventions. In addition, there is a rotation which includes dedicated days to be spent with one of the breast surgeons as they see patients in the Breast Center or in the operating room, observing surgical procedures on patients with whom the fellow is familiar. There is also dedicated time spent with the pathologist analyzing tissue samples from biopsies performed either in the Breast Center or in surgery. Monthly rotations are somewhat flexible in order to accommodate the future practice needs of the fellow. ACADEMICS The fellow is expected to present the imaging at the weekly Multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Conference, as well as to prepare a topical presentation for the radiology residents every other month. PREREQUISITES Applicants to fellowship programs in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology must be participating in or fairly recent graduates of an accredited training program and must be certified or qualified for certification by the American Board of Radiology at the time of starting the fellowship. Candidates must be able to obtain an unrestricted license in the state of Pennsylvania. International medical graduates must have ECFMG certification and hold either permanent resident status or a J-1 visa.
